The designers are well and truly into their garment production, fingers full of band-aids and hearts full of hope. Each designer has such a unique approach and inspiration, and it is exciting to see their ideas come to fruition. Julia is approaching her design inspired by a technique from Usha Doshi, a member of COS design studio since 2007. The technique ‘creates shapes’ with the fabric making it look effortlessly like delicate origami; precise and clean. Julia cuts out small squares from her fabric, then sews them back together. The piece itself is a simple minimal silhouette, with the focus being brought to the intricate design Julia has created movement and texture in Shane Gibson’s beautiful artwork - Yellow Petals.
