Hello everyone!
We are a small team of creative students at QUT in Brisbane comprising of young people with varied interests in the arts and creative industries. Some of us will be handling the social media, marketing, and branding aspect of our project and others are budding young fashion designers. The Project? We are working together with a beautiful group of Indigenous artists at the Hope Vale Arts and Cultural (over 2,000 kilometres away from us!) who are generously allowing us to use their artworks to create a collection of high-fashion garments that will be shown at the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair in August of this year. The group of students who were involved in last year’s project (Guuliil Fashion, https://emmaruddick.wixsite.com/hopevale2020) have left some very big shoes to fill and an extremely high standard even in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic forcing them to work remotely. While we are still feeling some of the effects of the pandemic, we are very lucky to be able to have more time to work together and collaborate in person – and are extremely excited to be involved in this project.
